Ottawa Police Services Board holding all February meetings virtually

By Anil Jhalli

The Ottawa Police Services Board (OPSB) is holding all of its February meetings virtually, including its regularly scheduled meeting on Feb. 27.

In a release, the board said the decision was made to ensure the physical safety of all people in attendance at meetings, including board members, and to make sure meetings go uninterrupted.

The OPSB is allowing delegations at its Feb. 27 meeting, and the deadline to register to speak on items on the agenda is 9 a.m. on Feb. 27.

The existing deadline to speak to items not on the agenda will be five working days before the date of the meeting. This allows staff the time to compile the speakers list.

The board is asking delegates to provide a summary of the key points they wish to raise as part of their request to speak. Those who do not wish to speak but would still like to provide their feedback, can email a written submission in keeping with the above noted deadlines. Requests to speak and written submissions can be sent to the attention of Randa Ben Guedria at randa.benguedria@ottawa.ca.
