OTTAWA — Traffic was backed up on Innes Rd. Monday when the owner of a W.O. Stinson & Son station slashed gas prices.
Eddie Jeha said it was done to try to send a message to oil companies on the ever-increasing gas prices, pricing regular unleaded at $1.09/litre.
Drivers waited up to 90 minutes to save 25 cents a litre on gasoline.
The price was in effect from 3 p.m. to 4p.m., and was then set at $1.19/litre for drivers who were still in line.
The average driver saved $10, and many told 1310News it was better for them to keep the money than to see it go to oil companies.
