Woman accused of falsely reporting sex assault

HAWKESBURY, Ont. – Provincial police have laid mischief charges against a woman over a false sex assault claim.

The Hawkesbury Crime Unit of the OPP has completed an investigation into the report of a sex assault alleged to have occurred at a residence in Nation Township in June of 2015.

Police say after a very thorough and detailed investigation, it was determined the allegations were false.

Emilie Lirette, 21 of Nation, Ontario has been charged with mischief and is due in court January 11, 2017.
