Quebec motorcycle chase ends in drug charges for Ottawa man

An Ottawa man has a court date in the fall, following a Canada Day incident on Hwy 50 in Gatineau.
Officers with the Sûreté du Québec tried to stop a motorbike in the westbound lanes of the highway on Sunday afternoon, but the driver sped off.
With police following, the bike pulled a u-turn and headed back east. Officers said he tried to take the Hwy 5 exit, but lost control and crashed.
Police found 3,500 meth tablets, a small a mount of hash, cocaine, and GHB on the driver, along with $2,000.
A 30-year-old Ottawa man faces a string of drug-related and dangerous driving charges.
The accused is due back in court this October.
