A Toronto-area man has been charged after a vehicle on the 401 crashed into an OPP cruiser — twice.
The crashes happened on Highway 401 near Maitland, Saturday morning. The OPP says officers were pursuing a vehicle in the westbound lanes of the highway when the vehicle collided with a marked police cruiser.
The vehicle fled the scene but a short time later, it collided with the same police cruiser a second time, as well as a passenger vehicle.
The two people in the passenger vehicle, the driver of the suspect vehicle and the police officer were taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
Nathaniel Larsen, 21, of Mississauga was arrested and charged with a slew of offences, including drug possession, impaired driving, driving without a licence and resisting arrest.
