Ottawa man facing sex assault charge, also accused of flashing women from his car

By Mike Vlasveld

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) believes there could be more victims of a man who is being accused of sexual assault in Orléans, and several incidents where he allegedly flashed his genitals at random women.

The OPS launched an investigation back in November of 2020, following a sexual assault inside a vehicle on Watters Road, just west of Trim Road.

Officers say further investigation showed that the suspect was linked to several incidents that happened between June and November of 2019, where it was reported that a man seated in his vehicle would ask women for directions, and when they approached the vehicle, they noticed that he had his genitals exposed.

These incidents happened throughout the city’s urban areas, as the suspect is believed to have been employed as a rideshare driver during between 2019 and 2020.

Emal Nabizada, 26, of Ottawa, was charged on December 21, with:

  • Sexual assault
  • Harassment
  • Indecent Act (four counts)

He was released with a condition to appear in court on January 21, 2021.

Investigators are asking any other victims to contact police.
