OPP seize nearly $27K worth of cocaine, fentanyl during traffic stop in Limoges

A man from Windsor is facing drug and weapons charges after a traffic stop in Limoges. 

Around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle in the eastbound lanes of Highway 417, near the Limoges exit. 

Police searched the vehicle, seizing nearly $27,000 worth of drugs, including nearly 160 grams of suspected fentanyl and 110 grams of suspected crack cocaine and cocaine combined. 

David Ivan Trombley, 22, has been arrested and faces the following charges:

  • Failure to comply with a release order
  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking 
  • Possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of an opioid other than heroin for the purpose of trafficking  
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm 

Trombley is due in court in L'Orignal at a later date.

According to police, a second individual fled the scene on foot and an arrest warrant has been issued.
