Arnprior man charged after OPP investigation into online sexual offences

A 30-year-old Arnprior man is facing charges after a four-month Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Internet child exploitation investigation.

Officers executed a search warrant at a home in the town and seized several electronic devices on Tuesday, August 24. 

Alec Finan, 30, was arrested and charged with:

  • Transmitting sexually explicit material to a child, contrary to section 171.1(1)(c) of the Criminal Code (two counts)

The accused was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on September 15, 2021.

Police are asking anyone who may have information regarding this investigation, or anyone with any information regarding Internet child exploitation, to please contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
