Smiths Falls man among three arrested in Toronto-area human trafficking investigation

A 43-year-old Smiths Falls man is among a few people facing charges in an ongoing human trafficking investigation that began at a Whitby hotel.

Durham regional police say the two men and a woman were arrested at a hotel in east-end Toronto on Tuesday, November 16, where officers seized two firearms, ammunition and a some illicit drugs.

Police say a 23-year-old man from Whitby and a 43-year-old man from Smiths Falls are facing numerous human trafficking and firearm-related offences.

A 19-year-old Toronto woman has also been charged with several drug and firearm-related charges.
