Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral Hall collecting humanitarian aid for Ukraine

Ottawa's Ukrainian Orthodox Hall has been designated as a drop off location for humanitarian aid donations for Ukraine. 

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress says residents looking to support relief efforts amid the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine can drop off donations at 1000 Byron Avenue between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., seven days a week, starting on Saturday, March 5. 

Those who wish to donate are asked to be considerate and provide clean, new or lightly used items. 

Requested priority items include:

Food (big demand)

  • Non-perishable only
  • Freeze-dried 
  • Formula

Kids/babies:

  • Diapers/pull-ups
  • Diaper cream
  • Formula
  • Wipes 
  • Toys and stuffies
  • Soothers
  • Baby bottles
  • Shampoo

Hygiene:

  • Shampoo
  • Toilet Paper
  • Feminine hygiene products 
  • Soap
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Disposable razors
  • Towels (lightweight)
  • Adult diapers 

Household comforts:

  • Bedding and sheets (new only)
  • Bedding
  • Table wear (disposable)
  • Blankets 
  • LED rechargeable headlamps/lamps
  • Containers for liquid (cannisters for water: 10-20 litres)
  • Water bottle 

Clothing:

  • Gloves
  • Hats
  • Thermal underwear
  • Socks
  • Footwear

Medical:

  • First aid kits
  • Medical supplies (ex. scissors tapes, bandages etc.)
  • Freezing spray/creams
  • Tourniquets 
  • Tylenol and Advil 
  • Imodium, Pepto Bismol and Gravol

  • Patches to stop bleeding
  • Antiseptic wipes/liquid
