Ottawa gas prices dropping 15-cents on Friday: EnPro

By CityNews Ottawa

Drivers in Ottawa are in for a bit of a break at the pumps this weekend.

Roger McKnight, the chief petroleum analyst for EnPro, told CityNews there will be an average price drop of 15 cents at most Ottawa stations Friday, March 11.

The relief comes as oil prices dropped on Tuesday, and claims from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates can and will ramp up crude oil production to account for the loss of Russian oil flow.

McKnight encouraged people to wait to fill up if possible, forecasting Friday's significant price drop.

Wednesday saw a 6 cent increase in the price of gas – marking a roughly 30-cent per litre increase from prices seen at the beginning of the month.
