Ottawa fire crews needed to pull one person out of their vehicle after they drove into a home in the city’s Lowertown.
A car drove into the living room of a home on Heney Street off Cobourg Street – near MacDonald Gardens Park – shortly before noon on Saturday, March 12.
The vehicle drove through the front of the house and was completely inside the living room.
Firefighters arrived on scene and needed to pull one person out of the vehicle “without comprising the structure.”
The residents of the home were able to exit safely, Ottawa Fire Services said.
“Multiple” people were moved into the care of paramedics.
Tech rescue teams arrived on location a few minutes later to “assess the structural integrity of the home.” They determined it was safe for the vehicle to be removed.
The vehicle was pulled out just before 1 p.m.
Shoring materials were added to provide stability to the living room area of the home.
