Over 800 parking tickets issued since the start of the ‘Rolling Thunder’ convoy

City of Ottawa crews will be on duty today, cleaning up any leftover debris and graffiti from the weekend's events.
A statement says that the downtown core will open to the public once again. Staff from the City of Ottawa Public Works department will gradually remove all the no-stopping and no-parking signs present in and around the restriction zones, that remained in place throughout the weekend.
City hall and its parking facility will reopen to the public on Monday, May 2.
Since Friday morning, 889 parking tickets were issued, 45 vehicles were towed, and 10 provincial offence notices (tickets) were issued.
The 'Rolling Thunder' convoy first made its way into the city of Ottawa on Friday, April 29, where the crowds were met with heavy police presence in the downtown core.
Hundreds of people gathered on Saturday, April 30 around the National War Memorial, where there were additional police services on hand. Several veterans addressed the crowds, with their speeches focusing on February's “freedom” convoy and the remaining COVID-19 mandates.

Although there were counter-protests, there was no confrontation between the two groups.
Police say three people were arrested on Saturday, April 30, which include a man who was arrested for breaching conditions stemming from the previous occupation.
On Sunday, May 1, the crowds gathered for a church service, at the Capital City Bikers' Church in the Vanier area commemorating the last day of the weekend-long convoy.
Ottawa Police Services (OPS) say they are also investigating a possible hate-incident that took place at the same church. Police say they were made aware of the incident early Sunday morning. No other information is available as the incident remains under investigation.
