There are no injuries after a late night church fire in the Centrepointe area of west end Ottawa.
Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting smoke and flames coming from a church in the 2300 block of Baseline Road around 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10.
One person who called from the location reported heavy smoke in the area of the main entrance to the church, and they were advised to exit the building.
Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed smoke and flame conditions, and a working fire was declared.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire and prevent it spreading to any other areas of the building.
The fire was declared under control at before 10 p.m. and OFS says a fire investigator is not required.
