WWE stars returning to CTC

By Anil Jhalli

For the first time in three years, superstars of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) are making their way to Canada's capital.

WWE's Saturday Night's Main Event will be live at the Canadian Tire Centre (CTC) on Saturday, Aug. 20 highlighted by a triple threat match where Roman Reigns, the WWE's Undisputed Universal champion, defends his titles against Drew McIntyre and Sheamus.

Canada's own Natalya Neidhart, known to wrestling fans across the globe by her ring name, Natalya, will be live at the event.

Neidhart comes from a family of wrestlers – her father is the late Jim 'The Anvil Neidhart and her uncle, the legendary Bret 'The Hitman' Hart – and she told CityNews Ottawa in an interview earlier this month that she always look forward to performing in front of the passionate WWE fans in Ottawa.

“I am a Canadian girl at heart,” she said. “I love performing and I love coming back to Canada. Ottawa has some of the best crowds and fans.”

While the card is subject to change, Liv Morgan, the WWE Smackdown Women's title holder, is teaming up with Aliyah to take on Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler.
