Garage fire leads to partial roof collapse south of Manotick

A family and their dogs have been displaced following an overnight fire south of Manotick.
In the early morning hours of Monday, Nov, 14, Ottawa Fire Service (OFS) responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a fire in a single-family home in the 1600 block of Century Road East.
The homeowner reported fire in an attached garage with lots of smoke migrating into the home, and a working fire was declared while firefighters were on route to the scene.
There was a partial collapse of the roof at the centre of the home while crews tackled the flames and the fire was declared under control just before 4 a.m.
The occupants were able to exit the home safely with their two dogs and there are no injuries reported.
A fire investigator was dispatched to the scene to determine the cause.
