No injuries following house fire south of Greely

There are no injuries after a house fire south of Greely.
Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to a single-family home in 6000 block of Bank Street, off of Cenote and Stone School roads, around 4:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17.
It was confirmed that the owner had exited the home safely, but by that point, the fire had spread from the first floor to the attic and smoke and flames could be seen coming from the roof.
Live hydro wires had also caught fire and were arcing above the laneway area, creating a hazard for firefighters.
By 4:50 a.m., a working fire was declared to dispatch additional crews to the scene, and because the home is located in an area without fire hydrants, a shuttle system was put in place to bring water to the scene using tanker trucks.
An OC Transpo bus was also sent to the scene to provide shelter from the cold while firefighters rotated in and out of the structure.
The fire was under control by 5:15 a.m. and a fire investigator has responded to the scene to determine the cause and origin.
