Ottawa police thwart attempted vehicle theft in Barrhaven

Police officers stopped a vehicle theft before it could happen in Barrhaven.

Members of the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Neighbourhood Resource Team (NRT) were patrolling the area on the evening of Friday, Jan 27, in response to ongoing vehicle thefts.

They came across a person sitting in an idling vehicle, a new model Dodge Ram, with another person standing in a laneway nearby.

Both were arrested and charged and police said the truck remains parked safely where the owner left it.
