OC Transpo recruitment roadshow kicks off

OC Transpo’s multi-day recruitment campaign has begun, as the transit service looks to hire more than 500 bus operators, customer service representatives, special constables, garage supervisors, and licensed mechanics.

“To help spread the word and encourage more people to apply, our recruitment team will be hosting the first-ever Transit Job Fair and Roadshow later this month,” Renee Amilcar, OC Transpo general manager told the city’s most recent transit commission meeting.

Recruiters will have a booth set up, staffed with experts who can explain the application process from May 24 to 26, 2023.

The roadshow will take place at these locations:

Blair Station: Wednesday, May 24, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Hurdman Station: Wednesday, May 24, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Billings Bridge Station: Thursday, May 25, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Baseline Station: Friday, May 26, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Tunney’s Pasture Station: Friday, May 26, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The transit agency will also hold a job fair on Saturday, May 27, at Greenboro Station between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There, people can speak directly with staff who work in jobs that interest them as well as connect with the recruitment team where they will learn interview tips and be given information on how to fill out the online application forms.
