It was a busy night for Ottawa firefighters with two blazes within minutes of each other.
Around 10:45 p.m., Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting smoke and flames coming from the roof of the two-storey multi-residential building in the 300 block of Wilbrod Street, near Friel Street, in Sandy Hill.
Crews confirmed a working fire upon a arrival and a second-alarm was declared to dispatch more rigs to the scene.
The fire had started in one unit of a four-door row house and then extended to adjoining units.
It took five hours to get the fire under control and 25 people have been displaced.
Firefighters assessed and treated one patient before the Ottawa Paramedic Service arrived on scene.
An Ottawa Fire Investigator is now working to determine the origin and cause.

OFS also responded to a high-rise in the 1700 block of Frobisher Lane after reports of two dumpsters on fire inside an underground parking garage.
The call came in around 10:40 p.m. and the fire was under control within 25 minutes.
Crews were able to pull the dumpsters outside and extinguish the fires before the flames could spread to the structure.
No evacuation was necessary.
