Investigation in Drummond-North Elmsley leads to assault and weapons charges

A man from Drummond-North Elmsley Township is facing a long list of charges following an investigation into an ongoing dispute.
The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began investigating on Sunday, Aug. 4, executing a search warrant the following day on Innisville South.
A 54-year-old man faces the following charges:
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes
- Pointing a firearm
- Assault cause bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle
- Uttering threats- cause death or bodily harm
- Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order (three counts)
- Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition (two counts)
- Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
The accused was taken into custody to be held for bail.
