Two people are facing charges in connection to a drug trafficking investigation in a small town south of Smiths Falls.
The Ontario Provincial Police East Region street crime unit began an investigation earlier this year that saw officers execute a search warrant at a home on Main Street in Athens, Ont. and three vehicles on Sept. 18.
Investigators seized over 14-grams of suspected methamphetamine, approximately eight grams of suspected fentanyl, a quantity of suspected cocaine and some unidentified pills.
Over $1,000 in cash was also seized and two people were arrested at the scene.
Sean White, 44, and Kylie Carson, 39, both of Athens, have been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Carson has also been charged with possession and was released from custody with a court date in Brockville on October 18, 2024.
White was taken into custody to be held for a bail hearing on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
The trafficking investigation involved members of the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit and Biker Enforcement Unit.
