Preliminary evidence shows motorcyclist collided with farm tractor in fatal crash

One person is dead after a two-vehicle collision in North Algona Wilberforce Township in the Ottawa Valley.

Around 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept 26, Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the crash on Highway 41 at Walsh Road, about 10 minutes north of Eganville.

The collision involved a motorcyclist from Renfrew and a male from North Algona Wilberforce driving the farm tractor.

Preliminary evidence from police indicates the motorcycle was northbound on Highway 41 when it collided with the tractor that entered the intersection from Walsh Road.

The 76-year-old male driver of the motorcycle was transported to hospital by ambulance and died a short time later, while the 63-year-old driver of the farm tractor was not injured.

Highway 41 was closed between Mountain Road and Hewitts Corner Road.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
