Ottawa man charged in fatal crash involving cyclist

A 25-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death following an incident involving the death of a cyclist.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a woman police have identified at 33-year old Chanel Charette, was hit by a vehicle while riding her bike.

Charette left the scene and took herself to the hospital where she was pronounced dead two days later.

Tony Bere of Ottawa was due in court for a show case hearing on Sunday, Sept. 29.
