Summer-like temperatures on tap for nation’s capital this weekend

It’s a perfect weekend to get outside and check out the fall foliage.

It’s going to feel a lot like summer in the National Capital Region this weekend — and into next week.

According to Environment Canada, the skies be clear all weekend in Ottawa with daytime highs near 20 C.

People may need to keep a sweater handy for the evening and overnight hours, as it will be cooler, though still above seasonal. The overnight lows for Friday, Saturday and Sunday are 4 C, 7 C and 10 C, respectively.

The weather agency adds that Monday will be even warmer, with sunshine and a high 23 C, and while a few clouds are expected to roll in for Tuesday, it’s still looking to be a dry day with a high 20 C.

The first chance of rain in the long-term forecast is Wednesday when we will also see the temperature start to cool off.

By Thursday of next week, the temperature will be more seasonal.
