A westbound lane of Highway 174 between Montreal Road and Blair Road will be impacted due to an emergency response training exercise.
According to the City of Ottawa, the highway will have a large presence of emergency vehicles on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The exercise is a part of testing the O-Train East Extension.
“The emergency exercise will result in an increased presence of emergency vehicles and buses staged along the highway and the future LRT line at Blair Station,” the municipality said in a press release.
Officials are asking people to move over and slow down when passing emergency vehicles. On Saturday morning into the early afternoon, people can also expect detours, traffic signs and to obey speed limits.
“Give yourself extra time if you plan on travelling through the area,” the release notes.
It is possible for the times of the exercise to change due to weather or other circumstances.
