Hunt for ‘armed’ man wanted in connection to Mooney’s Bay shooting

Officials are now looking for Ibrahim Abdullahi, 23, of Ottawa. (OPS)

An investigation is underway after police and paramedics responded to a shooting on Riverside Drive.

It happened around 10:00 p.m. Dec. 3 near Mooney’s Bay. A woman was taken to hospital with a gunshot injury, paramedics told CityNews. She suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Officials are now looking for Ibrahim Abdullahi, 23, of Ottawa in connection to the shooting.

He is described as a Black man, 6’4″ with a very thin build and black wavy hair. At the time, he wore a black puffy jacket, a purple hoodie, black pants and black sneakers.

“He should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, please do not approach him, contact police,” a press release urges.

Anyone with information on the current whereabouts of Abdullahi or this incident is asked to contact the Guns and Gangs Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5050.
