Police ID pedestrian struck by vehicle on Highway 401 near Kingston

On Jan. 16 emergency responders were called to Highway 401 near the Highway 15 exit by Kingston.

According to officials, a pedestrian who was trying to cross the highway was struck and killed. It happened just after 1:30 a.m. and as a result, police closed the highway for several hours.

Weeks later police sent out a forensic artist sketch to help the public identify him, which resulted in officials finding out who the man was days later. They say he was a 67-year-old from Kingston.

Kingston Fire Rescue, paramedic services, a provincial police collision investigator and the coroners office are still looking into the incident.

Police are asking for any witness information or video footage to be brought forward.
