Windy, snowy weekend ahead for Ottawa

The weekend is kicking off with a bit of a breeze through the nation’s capital.

Environment Canada says that it is a high of -4 C but with the wind chill it feels more like -15 C. The breeze is gusting up to 50 km/h on Friday.

Overnight some flurries could be expected, the weather agency notes, with the wind dying down to 20 km/h.

Temperatures are set to drop overnight to -20 C.

The sun will continue for Saturday, but without the cloud coverage, the city will be quite cold. It is expected to be -17 C in the morning but warming up to -7 C by the afternoon.

A storm system tracking its way across Ontario is set to bring snow to the nation’s capital by Saturday evening. Environment Canada isn’t saying yet just how much snow is expected.

Sunday the clouds will return with a high of -4 C and a low of -15 C overnight to start the week.
