Trafficking charges laid in Brockville drug bust

Four people have been arrested following a drug trafficking investigation in the Brockville area where over 20 grams of drugs were seized.

Members of the OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Kincaid Street in Brockville on March 6.

Officers were assisted by the OPP Canine Unit, Leeds County Detachment and Brockville City Police.

Upon search, officers seized nearly three grams of suspected fentanyl, over four grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and nearly 14 grams of suspected cocaine. A variety of weapons, a loaded syringe, approximately $2,300 in cash, as well as other items typically associated with drug trafficking were also seized.

Officers arrested four people at the scene.

Alexandra Daoust, 25; David Hanna, 56; Mark McIntosh, 51; and Joanne Ryan, 59, have each been charged with three counts of possession of Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking. All four suspects come from the Leeds and Grenville area.

McIntosh has additionally been charged with:

  • Possession of a prohibited device;
  • Possession of a prohibited device contrary to a prohibition order; and
  • Fail to comply with a probation order.

Hanna and Ryan were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 4. Daoust was remanded into custody and appeared in court for a bail hearing Friday. McIntosh remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing in Bellville on March 12.
