The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Homicide Unit has arrested and charged a wanted homicide suspect as he re-entered Canada yesterday.
The suspect, Haybe Farhan Aden, 29, was arrested on March 11 at the Toronto Pearson International Airport, wrote OPS in a news release.
According to force, the Ottawa man was wanted for the 2021 York Street shooting homicide of Tyson Nkuzimana and the attempted murder of an 18-year-old man, in the same incident.
The fatal shooting took place on July 4, 2021, ending in the death of L Ndongozi Nkuzimana — also known as Tyson Loris — and serious injury to another victim, added police.
Following the incident, OPS launched an investigation and a Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued for Aden. He has been wanted for second-degree murder and attempted murder since 2021.
Aden was returned to Ottawa on March 11 and appeared in court that afternoon, wrote OPS.
