5 youths charged after ‘swarming’ woman at O-Train station

Ottawa police have arrested and charged a group of youths in relation to a situation at a train station.

According to the press release, officers were called to the Rideau O-Train Station on April 25 just after 8:00 p.m.

Officers said that a group of five youths had “swarmed” a lone adult woman in the station. During the incident, members of the public tried to intervene, but police said, “the group of youth then targeted them.”

Police said they charged the five youths with:

  • Robbery with intent to steal
  • Assault
  • Conspiracy to commit indictable offence

Officials are looking for further witnesses to come forward. They also say that further charges could be laid as the investigation is ongoing.
