Two pedestrians struck by vehicle, sent to hospital

Two pedestrians have been sent to hospital after a single-vehicle collision Saturday.

Around 11:50 a.m., the Grenville County Detachment of the OPP responded to the collision involving a pickup truck and two pedestrians at the intersection of King Street East and Edward Street in Prescott.

The two pedestrians were taken to hospital with minor and serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck, 55-year-old Randy Warren from Prescott has been charged with the following:

  • Dangerous Operation causing bodily harm (Criminal Code);
  • Drive with windshield coated – view obstructed (Highway Traffic Act); and
  • Drive with Window coated – view obstructed (Highway Traffic Act).

The driver is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on June 27.

The intersection was closed for approximately three hours but has since reopened.
