Ottawa’s new Hard Rock Hotel and Casino has an opening date

The “highly-anticipated” hotel, casino and entertainment venue in Ottawa is set to open its doors for the first time in early July.
The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Ottawa will finally welcome guests on July 3, 2025 at 1 p.m., according to a press release.
Located in Gloucester, guests will experience gaming and dining options as well as a nightlife experience accompanied by live entertainment.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa president, Christine Crump, says they expect a big grand opening party.
“July 3 will mark the beginning of festivities, infused with legendary Hard Rock energy and an Oh! Canada! feel, this is more than a launch — it’s the start of something incredible for our city; our capital!”
OLG President and CEO, Duncan Hannay, says they are proud of the partnership between Hard Rock International and the City of Ottawa. “We have been working closely with them to unveil this premier destination, including a newly designed, full-service PlaySmart Centre. The economic benefits resulting from this expansion will help drive the local economy and will undoubtedly become a tourist hot spot.”
The new Hard Rock Live performance venue has a capacity up to 2,200 and will feature a “star-studded line up” that is yet to be announced.
“Ottawa is a milestone moment for us. It’s our first fully integrated resort in Canada and a key step in our global growth strategy,” said Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International.

The news release states there’s an expected 700 local jobs to come from the new resort.
“This property will not only attract international visitors but also support the local economy and enhance the region’s entertainment offerings.”

In addition to the new Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, renovations to the original building on the existing Rideau Carleton Casino will begin. Operated by Hard Rock, completed renovations are expected to be complete by the end of 2025 which will add additional gaming areas and restaurants.
