More people have stepped forward reporting sexual assaults that happened in Ottawa’s east end after police released details of an incident.
Since June 13, officials say two more people have stepped forward saying they were sexually assaulted by the same suspect. The most recent incidents happened on June 14 around 9:30 a.m. in the area of Innes Road/Belcourt Boulevard and St. Georges/Schouten Drive in Orleans.
Police said in both cases, the suspect approached the female victims from behind while they were riding bicycles. The first reported instance of this happened June 8 around 8:45 a.m., when a female victim was jogging and a man on a bike approached her from behind and sexually assaulted her.
The suspect is described as a white male with a thin build, wearing a blue hoodie, blue jeans and riding a blue or purple Stratus bike. Police are urging people to note the distinctive bicycle and Nike “Dunk Low” shoes the suspect had at the time.
Officers believe there could be more victims.
Anyone with information, or who may have dash cam or surveillance footage from the area during the time of the incidents, is asked to contact the East Criminal Investigation Section at 613-236-1222, extension 3566.
