Cornwall man charged by Ottawa police with several sexual offences

Ottawa police have laid charges against a man in connection with multiple sexual assaults, interference and child pornography incidents, dating back to 2011.

Officials said in a press release that they launched the investigation in 2024, which led to them laying charges against Paul Jody (PJ) Bourne of Cornwall. The 39-year-old is facing offences such as:

  • Sexual assault x5
  • Sexual interference with a person under 16 years old x4
  • Invitation to sexual touching x3
  • Telecommunication with a person under 16 years old (Luring) x1
  • Making sexually explicit material available to a person under or believed to be under 18 years old for specific criminal offences x1
  • Making sexually explicit material available to a person under or believed to be under 16 years old for specific criminal offences x1
  • Unlawfully accessing child pornography x1
  • Making child pornography x1

The accused is set to appear in court on July 4.

Police say there could be additional victims linked to this case, and are asking more people to come forward. The press release notes that the incidents could be related to investigations in both the nation’s capital and the North Bay areas.
