Two people are facing criminal charges after being caught racing each other on Highway 417 early Saturday morning.

Ottawa OPP say two vehicles were observe racing at “dangerously high speeds” in the east end of the city shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday morning.

Police say one driver is from Ottawa and the other is from Windsor. Both have been criminally charged with dangerous driving and stunt driving.

Both drivers had their licences suspended for 30 days and vehicles impounded for 14 days.

Both drivers will appear in Ontario court at a later date.
