Man, 27, charged after recording device found at Grenville daycare

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a man in relation to an act of voyeurism at a daycare in North Grenville.

Police said they received an initial report of a recording device found at a daycare in August.

During that investigation, OPP acted on a search warrant and obtained “hundreds of inappropriate video clips of adults, as well as children.” Investigators are working to identify the victims seen in the videos.

Daniel Morash, 27, of Embrun, was arrested on Aug. 29. He faces the following charges:

  • Possession of child pornography
  • Access child pornography
  • Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes in the use of property

After a bail hearing, the accused was released from custody with strict conditions and they’re expected to appear in court next month.

OPP tells CityNews that the daycare has informed parents of children at the daycare of the case. Police are not disclosing the name or location of the facility at this time.

Anyone with information should contact the Grenville County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Those that wish to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers.
