Motorcyclist caught travelling nearly 100 km/h over speed limit

A motorcyclist is facing multiple charges as well as a license suspension after travelling almost 100 km/h over the speed limit.

The driver was recorded reaching a speed of 178 km/m in an 80 km/h zone on Highway 43 shortly before 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Lanark OPP stopped and charged the driver with the following:

  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed;
  • Speeding 178 km/h in an 80 km/h zone;
  • Failure to surrender driver’s licence; and
  • Failure to surrender permit.

The vehicle has been impounded for 14 days and the driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days.
