Three arrested following gunshot and incident in Pembroke

Three people are under arrest following an incident near the downtown area of Pembroke.

Upper Ottawa Valley OPP responded to a report of a gunshot on Victoria Street. Upon arrival, police contained the residence and took appropriate safety measures.

OPP say the homeowner was called out of the residence before police entered.

Three individuals were located inside. No injuries were reported.

Police say two of the individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants. A third was arrested for failing to comply with a release order. The fourth was interviewed and released unconditionally.

One party was released pending a later court date and two remain in custody.

OPP say the parties will not be named to protect the victims as there is an intimate partner violence component to the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
