Major artery near Leitrim closed after cement truck rollover

Ottawa police closed a road after reporting a collision in the south end of the city.

Officials responded to Hawthorne Road near Leitrim around 11:50 a.m. It prompted the closure of the roadway between Hunt Club and Whyte Side roads, backing up traffic through the area.

Paramedics told CityNews that an adult man sustained non-life-threatening injuries after the cement truck he was driving rolled over.

The man was taken to hospital in stable condition, paramedics said.

Police are asking people to follow the directions of officers at the roadways.
