G2 driver caught impaired at gas station by provincial police

An officer from the Ottawa detachment of the provincial police laid impaired charges against a G2 driver.

According to police, on Nov. 14 the officer saw a person trying to purchase alcohol at a local gas station just before 8:00 a.m. Police suspected the person was impaired and administered a roadside screening test.

Further testing was needed, so the officer brought the person back to the detachment where they registered twice the legal blood alcohol limit.

As a result, George Drysdale, 30, is facing charges of:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

He had a G2 licence and received a 90-day suspension, and his vehicle was impounded. The accused is set to appear in an Ottawa court at a later date.
