Officers stopped a driver speeding on Highway 417 who had a 14-month-old child in the back.

According to Ontario Provincial Police, they saw the vehicle travelling at a high rate on the highway near Walkley Road just after 9:00 a.m. on Nov. 22. The vehicle was clocked at 165 km/h, over the 100 km/h limit.

Police laid several charges against the driver for several issues including the speed.

They are facing a 30-day driving suspension and, 14-day vehicle impound. Upon conviction, face a $3,000 fine, three demerit points and a one-year driving prohibition.

The driver was also charged for having an obstructed licence plate since the cover was tinted.
