Ottawa police carried out a drug bust and arrests after concerns were raised by members of the public in Chinatown.
Officers with the Carlington Neighbourhood Resource Team conducted proactive surveillance on Nov. 28. During this, they arrested two youths and an adult man, who are facing charges related to drug trafficking and possession of controlled substances.
Police seized prescription opioids and crack cocaine, a concealed knife, money, cell phones and drug-trafficking equipment.
Both youths face charges of trafficking a Schedule I substance, possession of proceeds of crime, carrying a concealed weapon and several breach of condition offences.
The 47-year-old man from the city was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
“The OPS remains committed to addressing drug activity and enhancing community safety through proactive enforcement and ongoing community engagement,” officials said in the press release.
The investigation is ongoing, led by the drug unit.
