Teen charged with impaired driving after crashing through fence of home

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid impairment charges against a teenage novice driver in Greater Napanee following a collision.

The incident occurred on Jan. 10, 2026 on Dundas Street West shortly after 4:00 a.m..

An OPP release states that police arrived at the scene and found a “vehicle had crashed through a fence and into the patio of a residence.”

After an investigation, the 18-year-old driver was arrested face the following charges:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus
  • Novice driver – BAC above zero

The driver’s vehicle was impounded and they had their licence suspended for 90 days . The accused person was released from custody and will appear in provincial court on Jan. 27, 2026.

Police said the fence and patio sustained damages.
