Three adults have been displaced following an early morning fire at a triplex in Vanier.
Ottawa Fire Services says it received multiple 911 calls shortly after 2 a.m. from residents at the 100 block of Jeanne Mance Street reporting smoke and flames inside the building.
Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes of dispatch and confirmed active smoke and flames.
All residents had evacuated the building and were safely outside in freezing temperatures.
An OC Transpo bus provided temporary shelter for those displaced.
Due to intense heat, responders say the flames had breached the bedroom window and were self-venting to the exterior, but a fast attack was able to contain the fire to the one room.
The fire was declared under control at 2:25 a.m.
Firefighters completed overhaul operations in the affected bedroom and confirmed there was no fire extension. High-pressure ventilation fans were used to clear residual smoke from the structure.
Victim Services was requested to assist three adults displaced by the blaze.
