77-year-old man killed in crash that sent four to hospital in Ottawa Valley

Highway 17 was closed for several hours on Wednesday after a serious two-vehicle collision.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the highway between Storyland Road and Bruce Street, north of Renfrew, Ont., around 10:05 a.m. Police said the two-vehicle collision caused four people in their early 20s, injuries. They were sent to hospital in non-life-threatening conditions.

One man, a 77-year-old from Ottawa, was pronounced dead on scene.

The young adults were all in the same vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
