Four suspects pretend to be police in west end home invasion

Ottawa Police are searching for four male suspects following a home invasion and a carjacking.
Officers say the male suspects forced entry into a rooming house in Ottawa’s west end with firearms and falsely identified themselves as police while confronting multiple occupants.
A short time later, a carjacking occurred at a separate location. The stolen vehicle remains outstanding.
Police say they believe the incidents are related and that the residence may not have been the intended target.
They say there is no ongoing risk to the public at this time.
The investigation is being led by the Robbery Unit and Victim Services has been offered to those affected.
Police are reminding the public to keep vehicles locked at all times.
