Motorcyclist dead in single-vehicle crash near Perth

One person is dead following a single-vehicle motorcycle collision in Tay Valley Township, west of Perth.

Lanark County OPP say they responded to the collision on Upper Scotch Line between Scotch Line and Allans Mill Road around 6:15 p.m. on Friday.

Officers arrived at the scene to find the sole rider of the motorcycle, a 43-year-old man from Carleton Place. He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

OPP are continuing the investigation with assistance from the Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists. Upper Scotch Line was closed for several hours while emergency crews and investigators were on scene. The road was reopened.

Anyone with information or video footage of the incident is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers.
