Man boards OC Transpo bus with stab wounds, police investigating

There was a police presence in Lowertown after a person got on an OC Transpo bus, suffering serious injuries.

Officials said in a post on social media that there was an increased police presence at Rideau and Friel streets. Police said they are investigating the incident as an assault.

Paramedics told CityNews in an email that they got the call around 10:55 a.m. for a man who got on a bus after being stabbed.

He suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was stabilized by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

Police believe the man sustained the injuries at an unknown location before getting on the bus.

Temporary road closures impacted the area due to the investigation.
